Portsmouth FC, affectionately known as Pompey, is an English Premier League football club based in Portsmouth, England. Pompey was founded in 1898 but did not see any success until the 1920's. They are the current holders of both the FA Cup and the Barclays Asia Trophy.

The club was in the second tier of English football until 2003, when they were promoted. In their illustrious history, Portsmouth has won two top tier championships (1949, 1950), one second tier championship (2003), two FA Cups (1939, 2008), and 1 Community Shield in 1949. They also won the Western Football League three times and the Barclays Asia Trophy one time.
