On 3 August 2008, the WBC awarded Klitschko a chance to regain his WBC Heavyweight title. A fight was arranged with Samuel Peter and on 11 October 2008, he regained his title when Peter retired on his stool in the eighth round.

On 21 March 2009, Klitschko successfully defended his WBC Heavyweight title against Juan Carlos Gomez which he won by TKO in the ninth round.
On 26 September 2009, Klitschko successfully defended his WBC Heavyweight title against Chris Arreola at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. He scored a TKO victory at the conclusion of the tenth round after Arreola's trainer, Henry Ramirez called a stop to the fight.[9]
On 12 December 2009, Klitschko successfully defended his WBC Heavyweight title in Bern, Switzerland by scoring a unanimous decision points victory over previously unbeaten opponent, Kevin Johnson.
On 24 February 2010, Klitschko stated that 2010 will be his final year as a professional boxer. He is will be defending his WBC belt against Albert Sosnowski on may 29th |
