About Manny Pacquiao

Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao is the first Filipino and Asian boxer to win four world titles in four different weight divisions. The Philippines awarded his achievements by making him the Philippines flag bearer in 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics even though he’s not participating in the Olympics. To date Pacquiao, currently The Ring magazine new #1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world, has fought 53 fights, booking a record of 48-3-2, 36 KOs.

Driven by the death of his close friend, Pacquiao started his professional career in 1994 at the young age of 16. He won and defended numerous titles such as the WBC Flyweight title and WBC International Super Bantamweight title until his chance for a world title fight came on June 23 2001. Stepping in as a late replacement in a fight against IBF Super Bantamweight champion Lehlohonolo Ledwaba on a bout held at MGM Grand Las Vegas, Pacquiao earned the title by way of TKO in the sixth round

Pacquaio then stole the WBC International Super Featherweight title from Hector Velasquez by way of TKO in the sixth round on September 10 2005. He defended his title for the next sixth matches, with opponents such as Manny Pacquiao, Jorge Solis, Marco Antonio Barrera, and Juan Manuel Marquez before deciding to vacate his title in July 2008. Yaytickets.com sells every boxing match tickets from every division.

Met Oscar De La Hoya on December 6 2008 in a non-title fight contested, Pacquiao won by way of TKO when De La Hoya’s corner threw in the towel before the start of ninth round.
