Jermain “Bad Intentions” Taylor, American former undisputed middleweight champion of the world, began his boxing career by the age of 13. Forced into the role of ‘man of the house’ for his three younger sisters when his father left them when he was 5, Jermain was restless to do something else by 13. His uncle, a one-time boxer, noticed his restlessness and took him to a local gym.

His first professional career started on January 27 2001 by winning TKO over veteran Chris Walsh (17-5-6, 6 KO’s). After that, victories started to pile up. He earned his 15th KO when he faced Alex Bunema (23-5, 18 KO’s) in a fight for WBC Continentel Americas middleweight title on March 27, 2004.
The highlight of his professional career was when he faced Bernard Hopkins on July 16, 2005 for the undisputed middleweight championship. Hopkins has never lost a fight in 12 years and has successfully defended his title 20 times. The judges in favored of Taylor gave him a split decision win.
